Consulting Committee

PUBS Consulting offers a pro-bono market research and assessment for early stage, pre-clinical biotechnology or medical device startups at the University of Pennsylvania.

We are a flexible and highly motivated student team dedicated to providing valuable insights for clients that aid in the commercialization process. Prior work and sample presentations can be provided upon request.

The project team is by Roshan Pillai, a senior in the Vagelos Life Sciences and Management Program. He is able to fuse her data analytical skills with his passion for the Health Care industry through his dual degree in Biology and Finance. This past summer, he interned at a hedge fund in Boston. Consulting teams consist of 5-6 competitively selected undergraduates with various backgrounds in biotechnology and medical device related fields such as bioengineering, biology, and management. Please reach out to Roshan at rrpillai@wharton.upenn.edu if you are interested in PUBS Consulting.

Scope

The consulting committee analyzes the treatment paradigm in order to inform unmet needs in the space. We also try to understand market opportunity for the product, competitive landscape, and identify the parameters investors would seek such as pricing, market penetration, market size projections, and desired clinical data.

Methods of Research

PUBS uses rigorous secondary data review and analysis using journals and other publications to identify the overall market landscape, addressable patient populations, and the current treatment paradigm. In addition, we use in-depth physician interviews in order to identify: unmet needs, response to target product profiles, and feedback regarding clinical development

Timing and Deliverables

Project can be joined and initiated immediately, with final presentations delivered by end of April/early May. Regular contact will be established between PUBS Consulting and the client.
