Wharton Undergraduate Student  Events (USE) Instructions

About CampusGroups Events & Calendar

The Wharton Undergraduate Division student life team, student clubs, and other undergraduate groups use CampusGroups for managing events and hosting the Wharton undergraduate student events calendar. You can log in to groups.wharton.upenn.edu with your PennKey and password and view the calendar. For more information about how to use all of the features of CampusGroups, check out the CampusGroups help center. Below we present both written and video instructions about how to submit an event in CampusGroups and how to utilize the calendar and Google calendar subscription feeds.

Submitting an Event in CampusGroups (Officers Only)

    Log in to Campus Groups and Select your Group and Click Events.

    Log in to groups.wharton.upenn.edu and select the group for which you're creating events. (Note: You must be an officer to submit events). Once inside your group's dashboard, click Events.

    Click +Create Event and Fill Out Information

    1. Fill out the Event Name, Description, and Event Type. Choose appropriate Event Tags -- if your event is for all undergraduates choose "Open to all UGR Students" or if your event is specific to first years choose "For New UGR Students".

    2. Select your Date/Time and include your video conferencing link. Photo/Flyer and More Details are optional.

    3. Set your Access & Display Options. "Everyone" is for events open to all students, "The Wharton School CampusGroups users" is for Wharton students, "Some Wharton School users" allows you to restrict access to certain graduating classes, and you can also restrict access to "group members only." If you restrict registration access, be sure to restrict display access to "just the people who are allowed to register."

    Include Registration Information and Click Create Event.

    Choose your Registration Options or provide a link to external registration and click Create Event. Your event will now display in the CampusGroups calendar based on your display options.

CampusGroups Calendar Overview (All Users)

    Log in to CampusGroups and Click the Calendar Icon at the Top

    Log in to groups.wharton.upenn.edu with your PennKey and password and click the calendar icon at the top of the page. This will take you to a calendar that displays events based on your user profile and event display settings.

    Search for or Filter Events

    You can search for events by filter by upcoming/past events, club or group name, group type, event type, or event tags. If you want to find events open to all UGR students, choose "Open to All UGR Students" in the Events Tags or if you want to find events for first year students choose "For New UGR Students" in the Events Tags.

    Subscribe to Events in Google Calendar

    Create Google Calendar feeds based off of your search filters. For example, once you have selected the Clubs or Event Tags that you want, you can click the down-arrow icon and copy the link generated. Open up Google Calendar and click the + sign to add a calendar by URL and paste the URL generated by CampusGroups.
