SWS fosters an innovative, exploratory, ad interdisciplinary environment for women interested in learning more about the ever-changing, dynamic financial world.

There are 2 ways to join SWS:

  1. Opt-In to Join as a General Body Member - No Application needed
  2. Apply to be on a specific committee (see below) - Application Required

Junior Board + Research Team

Application Required

Committees are as follows:

  1. Research Team: Our primary committee focuses on engaging members in more advanced topics and entry into stock pitch competitions. Members meet weekly to debate investment ideas and partake in portfolio management simulations, and additionally write articles for the SWS blog.
  2. Junior Board: The board organizes club-wide events, logistics, and handles executive matters.

GBM/Seminar Series

No application required! Just Opt-In via PennClubs.

General Body Members can enjoy:

  1. Annual seminar series: takes place every fall semester with intro finance and accounting classes that help underclassmen get introduced to the fundamentals of investing.
  2. Guidance/mentorship: SWS team members will help you apply the skills you gain throughout the seminar

Club Recruitment Process

August/December

Explore this page to determine if you are interested in joining our organization. Then, determine whether to join as a GBM (Seminar Series), Research Team, or Junior Board member depending on your interest in our mission, your other involvements, and the level of commitment you are able to give to the organization.

Early September/January

Recruitment opens! Attend an Info Session to meet some of our Leadership Team and learn more. Dates will be posted on CampusGroups.

Late September/January

Navigate to PennClubs and either "Opt-In" to join as a General Body Member OR complete the full application for a specific role on your chosen committee.

After Applying

Our Leadership team will determine which candidates will move on to the interview round. We will conduct two rounds of interviews and notify all prospective applicants of their status along the way.

Next Steps

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept all students into our limited Committee positions but there will be another opportunity to apply in the next cycle if you are still interested!
