Mission The Wharton Undergraduate Hospitality and Travel Club was established to providea forum for students to increase their knowledge, grow their network, and gainexposure to the hospitality and travel industries through speaker, recruiting, andnetworking events as well as behind-the-scenes visits to hotels and restaurants. Asof 2014, travel and tourism provided 9% of global GDP, with the industry providing1 in every 11 jobs. Despite this, there are no clear educational and career paths atWharton for students interested in this fascinating industry. Our club began withthe purpose of closing this gap by not only educating the undergraduate communityabout opportunities in the industry but also providing actual pathways throughnetworking and career-oriented events to join full time after graduation.
Membership BenefitsThroughout the year, WUHT hosts a series of events ranging from guest speakerseries to physical hotel treks in order to engage our members and achieve ourmission. The annual career conference, our biggest event each year, brings togetherprofessionals from all areas of hospitality and travel, from restaurants topublications to real estate investment trusts and everything in between. It is asuccessful event that allows our students to directly interact with companies forformal and informal networking and recruitment. The Wharton UndergraduateHospitality and Travel Club continues to bring the Wharton undergraduatecommunity closer to interacting with all aspects of the world's largest employer asan industry.
