Frequently asked questions:

Do I need past boxing experience? No! The club is meant for ALL levels, no prior experience is necessary. For some members WBC is a workout club, for others it is a chance to learn a new sport (and maybe compete).

Will I get hit in the head or get hurt? No! Classes involve no contact with other members. Starting in October, designated sparring sessions will begin. See the FAQ on sparring.

What is Fight Night? Fight Night is the biggest Wharton/Penn Law event of the year! 5-10 Wharton fighters fight against counterparts in the Law School to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia. This year's Fight Night will be April 8th 2023.

How do I participate in Fight Night? Interested members must attend the Fight Night Fighter information session (more information to follow). From there, members should regularly attend both regular classes and sparring sessions - committment is crucial to be considered as a fighter. Committed members will be matched with members of the Law School based on gender, size, weight, and skill. Fight Night Fighters will be announced in January/February 2023.

Is there sparring? Yes! Later in the year certain classes will be designated as sparring sessions. During these sessions, members will slowly be introduced to fighting an opponent under controlled conditions and close supervision. Members must have protective equipment (i.e. headgear and mouthguard) and attend a briefing session before they begin sparring.

When and where is training? Training is Mon, Wed, Sat at 10 Hands Fight Sports Between Chestnut and Market on 20th. Sign-ups occur weekly at 5:00 PM on Sunday.

How can I learn more about the sport of boxing? Attend our member learning events! Come watch fights with us! Details to come.

Are there events other than training? We host social events, fight viewing, and other fitness events!
