In today’s beauty industry, diversity isn’t just a value—it’s a competitive edge in the market. Companies that embrace inclusivity are better positioned to capture a broader market share, with inclusive brands experiencing revenue growth rates at 1.5 times the rate of their less diverse competitors. This is especially true of emerging niche and indie brands, which are increasingly gaining influence due to their targeting of relatively untapped markets.

This poses an important question: why do diversity and inclusion within cosmetics equate to profits? Much of this has to do with shifting consumer demands and societal values, with approximately 50% of consumers stating inclusivity as a main factor in their considerations of where to shop. Several factors contribute to this shift, such as the increased purchasing power of underrepresented demographics and the popularity of personalized, tech-enabled beauty solutions.
