Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of organizations do you work with?

WCC Clients must be community-focused, charitable organizations. While the majority of our clients have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, we will review alternate designations on a case-by-case basis.

Does the organization have to be local to Philadelphia?
Interaction between the client and our MBA students is very important, and for that reason we have a strong preference for working with clients in the Philadelphia area. That said, we do accept applications from organizations headquartered elsewhere, and have worked with them in the past. In such cases, it is critical that all parties involved plan for active and responsive communication via conferencing, video chat, etc.

What if our needs change mid-project?
We understand the highly dynamic and unpredictable nature of the non-profit world, and are prepared for the possibility that the scope of the work may shift after kick-off. However, given the limited timeline of the project (3 months), excessive changes of focus, or changes made late in the year, can severely limit the breadth and depth of the final deliverable. For that reason, we look for projects that have been thoughtfully planned out, with objectives clearly defined well in advance.

We worked with WCC last year. Can we become a client again?
Absolutely. If your organization has a distinct, new project to propose, we're happy to receive a repeat applicant.

Can we have multiple projects at once?
We'll never say never, but this has been rare. We look to create variety in our client list, and our projects should be reasonably discrete from one another in content and charitable cause.

I know a great organization that could benefit from your services. Can I send them the application materials?
Yes please! We're always looking to make new connections, and are happy to receive referrals any time during the year.
