  • Susquehanna Growth Equity Managing Director and Co-Founder Vincenzo La Ruffa will speak about the day-to-day life of a VC and walk through a portfolio company case study.

    Speaker Bio: 
    Vincenzo La Ruffa is a Managing Director of Susquehanna Growth Equity and helped form the group in 2006. He focuses on investments in capital markets and payments technology. Vincenzo currently serves on the boards of The Logic Group, MMIT, and ETF Securities (Observer). He previously served on the boards of 29West (acquired by Informatica Corp), Ballista (acquired by IntercontinentalExchange), and Derivix (acquired by FlexTrade).  Prior to joining SGE, Vincenzo invested in technology companies in the US and UK with NGP Energy Technology Partners and EnerTech Capital. Vincenzo began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of Deutsche Bank.
    Vincenzo graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School and a B.A. in Classics from the School of Arts and Sciences.
    Company Overview:
    Susquehanna Growth Equity, LLC (SGE) is a private equity group investing in growth capital and buyout opportunities in financial technology, information services, and software in the US, UK, and Israel. SGE is an affiliate of Susquehanna International Group, LLP.

 3. Nov 6 – Info Session for Entrepreneurship-focused Trip to New Orleans
  • What: An information session for IDEAcorps—a nationally recognized MBA service learning program through which MBA students provide direct strategic consulting to startups during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. IDEAcorps teams partner with select entrepreneurs and serve as their executive management team for a week, while simultaneously enjoying the rich culture and lifestyle of New Orleans.

    Why: A chance to apply classroom concepts in actual entrepreneurial environment, meet VCs and investors, and network with peer teams from HBS, Stanford GSB, Tuck, The Johnson School, et al. And, New Orleans is pretty cool.

    Who: Open to ALL students, particularly those interested in entrepreneurship, venture capital, startups, consulting, or emerging economic development ecosystems.

  • The PEVC Education team will be holding an introductory session on the basics of private equity. This ground level overview session is a must attend for anyone that is curious about the private equity profession but has had no prior work experience in the field. Topics to be covered include: PE fund structure, basics of a private equity investment, role of investment professionals and more.

7. Dec 6-8 – Training the Street Sessions – Sign Up Today!
  • Back by popular demand, we've brought Training the Street - the leading financial trainer for Wall Street firms - for training sessions which cover LBO modeling and interviews. This is the last session before the year ends, so be sure to sign up today!

8. Dec 6-8 – Wharton African American MBA Association Whitney M. Young Jr. Memorial Conference
  • The 2013 conference themed, "The Crisis. The Opportunity", will take place Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA

9. Jan 16-18 – University Private Equity Summit
  • Speakers confirmed for conference include:
    - David Hornik-Managing Director of August Capital and member of 2012 Forbes Midas List.
    - Ray Bradford-Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers--leads cloud investments; led teams at Amazon's AWS and Twitter.
