Hi Wharton Gamers/Game Enthusiasts/Curious Individuals,
A very warm welcome to Wharton Esports & Gaming! For those recruiting for gaming, we have a slate of career events lined up to get you prepped for the upcoming recruiting season. For those just here for the games, we have a variety of fun events planned for this year, and we can’t wait to get started.

1. 1Y Board
We're inviting 1Ys to apply to join our board as VPs in Marketing / Comms, Social, External Affairs, Careers, Members Ed and Finance! Applications close on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 3:00 pm EST! Apply for the 1Y board here.
2. Annual Super Smash Tournament
We will be hosting our annual Super Smash Tournament 2023-2024 on Tuesday (9/26) at 7PM. Come test your smash skills against Wharton's best and compete for prizes, or come simply to chat and learn more about the gaming industry, its growth potential, and potential career opportunities. Sign up HERE!
Event Details:
-When: Tuesday (9/26) from 7:00pm - 9:00pm
-Where: Location to be shared with attendees
-What: Super smash bros tournament with multiple game systems
-How Much: $5 for members; $10 for non-members
Tournament Details:
-Single elimination
-One-and-done
-Buy-in ($5)
-Winner-take-all prize
3. Fall Career Panels
We will be hosting our first career panel on Monday 9/25 at 12PM! Come out and listen to 2Ys who worked in gaming at top companies (Electronic Arts, PlayStation, etc) across various roles (product, corporate development, etc.) discuss their internship experiences and what made them successful in their recruiting efforts. Sign up HERE!
Be also on the lookout for the announcement of our second career panel that will feature recent alumni now working full-time in the gaming industry planned for later in the fall semester!
4. Recruiting Kickoff Email
For members only, be on the lookout for the recruiting kickoff email, which will serve as your one-stop-shop for gaming industry recruiting prep. The email will have the following information (and more!) included in it: recruiting timeline & prep checklist, gaming industry breakdown, gaming roles breakdown, interview prep guidance.
From there, we’ll send out additional content and host workshops that will support you in your recruiting process throughout the academic year. As always, feel free to reach out to Val Ayer (vayer@wharton.upenn.edu), if you can’t wait to get started!
