Professor Jamie Diamond exposes body language in her video series Craigslist Strangers. Invited to come have their portrait taken, strangers were put together to mimic the roles of lovers or family.

Archisle: International Photographer in Residence Program 2015

The Jersey Contemporary Photography Program, hosted by the Jersey Society in the British Channel Island of Jersey promotes contemporary photography through an ongoing program of exhibitions, education and commissions. The Archisle project connects photographic archives, contemporary practice and experiences of island cultures and geographies through the development of a space for creative discourse betweenJersey and international practitioners. Archisle is currently inviting applications for the position of Photographer in Residence 2015. This is an exciting post in its third year commencing in April running for six months through to September 2015.

International Call for Entries: Portfolio ShowCase Volume 8

Fifteen photographers will be chosen to have their twelve-image portfolios published in the Center’s Annual Portfolio ShowCase book. One artist will be chosen for a solo exhibition at the Center for Fine Art Photography. The Center will exhibit prints from the selected artists in conjunction with the book launch to promote the artists.

Aperture Portfolio Prize 2015
Deadline: December 2nd
First prize is awarded $3,000 and an exhibition at Aperture Gallery. The first-prize winner and up to five runners-up will be featured on Aperture’s website, accompanied by a brief statement written by Aperture staff. All winners are announced in the foundation’s e-newsletter, which reaches fifty thousand subscribers across the globe, including curators, critics, and members of the photography community. Winners will also have the opportunity to participate in the Aperture Foundation limited-edition print program.

Feature Shoot is excited to announce the inaugural Feature Shoot 2014 Emerging Photography Awards, our new international photography competition for up-and-coming photographers who are ready to kickstart their careers. We’re giving three photographers a chance to show their work in New York, a lifetime subscription to Squarespace, and an announcement on the Feature Shoot website. Plus, the first place winner will also receive $2,500 in cash.

International Contemporary Artists
International Contemporary Artists is a series of art books aiming to connect artists and the art world in a direct and effective way. Artists are invited to submit their work for selection in order to be included in the book.
Call for Graduate Work: In the In-Between
In the In-Between is a web-based photography journal founded by photo-artist and writer Gregory Eddi Jones. In-B is designed to encourage discovery and discussion among digital imaging artists, and to serve as a forum for photography rooted in computer-based processes.
This is a unique opportunity for grad students interested and engaged with developing practices in photographic media, and all who submit work and/or writings will be considered for online publication.
