The Harris Family Alternative Investments Program, the Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Club, and the Wharton Investment Management Club are excited to co-host a special fireside chat with Philippe Laffont, Founder and Portfolio Manager of Coatue. The event will run from 5:30–6:45 PM, with open Q&A with the audience.

Philippe Laffont is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Coatue, a leading global technology-focused 'Tiger Cub' hedge fund with approximately $70 billion in AUM across public and private markets. Since founding Coatue in 1999, Philippe has built the firm into one of the most influential platforms in global tech investing. He previously served as a research analyst at Tiger Management, where he covered the telecommunications sector and trained under legendary investor Julian Robertson. Philippe began his career at McKinsey & Company before spending several years as an independent consultant. He holds both a B.S. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Recognized by Forbes as one of America’s top investors (with an estimated net worth of ~$7.9B and ranked #176 on the Forbes 400), and consistently named among the Top 6 highest-earning hedge fund managers globally by Institutional Investor, Philippe has been an early backer of category-defining companies including ByteDance, Databricks, DoorDash, Instacart, Snap, Spotify, and many others.

This conversation will explore how elite investors identify the next generation of AI winners in a hype-driven market, drawing from nearly three decades of public and private technology investing.
