Art is more than creativity. It is a powerful force in markets, education, and cultural exchange. The Wharton Art Club is hosting an evening that brings together voices who approach art from different perspectives: finance, entrepreneurship, and creative practice.

Magnus Resch - Described by CNN as “the world’s leading art market expert.” He is a bestselling author, entrepreneur, and teaches art economics at Yale University. His research has been published in Science, and his career has been profiled in a Harvard Business School case study. Magnus has founded several successful ventures, including Gymondo.de (exit), Larryslist.com, and Magnus.net—known as the “Shazam for art”—backed by Leonardo DiCaprio as investor and advisor. He holds a Ph.D. in economics, studied at Harvard and the London School of Economics, and lives in New York City.

Prof. Gizem Saka – Senior Lecturer of Finance at Wharton, where she teaches economics and finance. With a PhD in behavioral economics from Cornell, she has consulted with museums and hedge funds, advising on retirement funds that include art. Her academic research focuses on behavioral economics and art markets, and her excellence in teaching has been recognized with the Wharton Teaching Excellence Award, the William G. Whitney Award for Distinguished Teaching, and Harvard University’s Certificate of Distinction in Teaching. Beyond academia, Gizem is an accomplished artist with a Philadelphia-based studio, where her paintings explore expressions of womanhood.

The discussion will be moderated by Terrell Estime (WG ‘26), Wharton Art Club Co-President, former Vice President trader at Citi, and contemporary art collector who has organized cultural programs connecting artists, collectors, and institutions.
