Join us for a fireside chat as we dive into the social determinants of health. We will be joined by Dr Krisda H. Chaiyachati who is an Assistant Professor Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine, a Clinical Innovation Manager at Penn Medicine's Center for Health Care Innovation, Medical Director for Penn Medicine OnDemand Virtual Care, and a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr Chaiyachati designs, studies, and implements innovative strategies for addressing social barriers to care and improving the accessibility of health care to achieve population health goals. A major theme of his research is understanding how health outcomes for low-income and minority populations are affected by improving access to social services or redesigning more accessible health care. He fundamentally believes that health care systems delivering care solely through conventional face-to-face visits will continue to perpetuate barriers for patients.
