The Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center is offering a highly-subsidized Argus training on October 27th – 28th (Saturday – Sunday) in JMHH 350. The training will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm each day and lunch will be provided. This training is an excellent value at a cost of only $20 to participants (limited to paid members of Penn's student real estate clubs). This cost covers both days of training, a 30-day Argus Enterprise or 30-day Argus OnDemand license, and lunch for both days. Typically, this 2-day training costs $1,250. The syllabus for the training is attached.
Argus Enterprise is the global standard in commercial real estate software and property valuation and is the most comprehensive asset and portfolio management solution in the world. Zell/Lurie is sponsoring the training seminar in response to feedback from former students (particularly career switchers) that knowledge of Argus is very helpful during the interviewing process and early on in their real estate careers. More and more employers are testing job candidates on their Argus proficiency.
In order to participate, please register through CampusGroups by October 15th, and use ticket options to indicate whether you will use Argus Enterprise or Argus OnDemand (we strongly recommend Argus Enterprise; see below).
Some things to note for the training:
- The trainer will be using Argus Enterprise, which is PC-compatible. Argus Enterprise is only compatible with Macs if the user runs it on a virtual desktop or installs an emulator. Students who cannot access a PC for the training can then choose to receive a product code for Argus OnDemand, the cloud-based version of Argus Enterprise, instead. For the best training experience, however, it is strongly recommended that students use a PC and Argus Enterprise. Argus OnDemand is suggested only for students who do not use a PC and cannot run a PC emulator.
- The 30-day product key for Argus Enterprise/ Argus OnDemand will be sent to registered students by October 24th so that they can install Argus before the training. Please install the program before the training – if you are installing it on the day of you will miss programming.
