**What is voguing?**
Voguing is a dance genre that originated from gay men in Harlem in the 1980s and was more widely popularized by Madonna's 1990 song Vogue. While there are many forms of voguing, the styles generally incorporate very distinctive yet fluid geometric motions.
Music, fashion, and community are also deeply embedded in vogue culture. An essential element of this culture is that dancers organize themselves into groups called "houses." These houses provide a sense of belonging and acceptance for many outcast members of LGBT minorities.
**How can I learn more about voguing?**
Fashion, death drops, and the origin of shade. Out4Business will screen the iconic documentary Paris is Burning at noon on the day of Wharton54. The film explores the intersection of race, class, gender, and sexuality at vogue balls in 1980s Harlem. It was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." Serving executive realness and lunch.
