We are pleased to announce the 4th annual Wharton Middle East and North Africa Conference, scheduled on Saturday March 21, 2015, at our campus in Philadelphia. Through this year’s theme, “From MENA to the World,” the Wharton MENA Conference will provide a platform for sharing the stories of MENA leaders, investors and entrepreneurs who are asserting the region’s presence in the global economy.
Group discounts are available -- please email Joanna Abousleiman at email@example.com for more information.
Following the Conference, Wharton MENA will partner with Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture to present an evening of extraordinary music. Al-Bustan, a local non-profit organization that promotes Arabic language and culture through the arts, offers Arab music ensemble classes at Penn and at several public schools. The concert will feature renowned guest artists Puerto Rican percussionist Ronaldo Morales Matos and Lebanese vocalist Oumeima El Khalil, in collaboration with Al-Bustan Takht Ensemble, showcasing a creative fusion of traditional and contemporary Arab-Latin music. This concert will merge the educational and presenting arms of Al-Bustan as students learning Arabic choir and percussion will be rehearsing with the guest artists to accompany them in the performance.
The concert will be held at 8pm at the Trinity Center for Urban Life in downtown Philadelphia. Separate tickets are required for the concert, and can be purchased as part of a discounted joint conference and concert ticket.
