William P. Lauder (W 83) is Executive Chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., a global leader in prestige beauty. During this conversation, Mr. Lauder will share with us his experiences on leading a 10 billion dollar family business made up of 30 brands operating in over 140 countries. He will cover themes on succession, the involvement of non-family members and the importance of family constitutions and charters. The session will be focused on how to build and sustain a multi-generational family business, and offer interesting insights for anyone looking to join and lead their family business
We'll also have the opportunity to learn about the dedicated research of the Wharton Global Family Alliance (GFA). The GFA is a unique academic-family business partnership established to enhance the marketplace advantages of global families that control substantial enterprises and resources. The presentation will be in a panel format and offer both academic and practitioner perspectives on GFA research covering multigenerational management strategies, governance, wealth management strategies and philanthropy.
